Mindfulness and Yoga

 

I believe that to look after students, colleagues and families well we need to look after ourselves.

I have completed a fully accredited (Yoga Alliance International) 500hr yoga teacher training,. I have provided mindfulness and meditation classes for staff and students in the FE and HE sector for almost a decade. I have presented on the benefits of staff wellbeing, in both the general workplace and within teaching practice, at Advance HE, Internet Librarian International, Perfect Information Conference and numerous CILIP events. I have written on this topic here, on guest blog posts and in Business Information Review. I also have a chapter recently published by Innovative Libraries Press in March 2021.

I teach a perfect complement of dynamic standing Vinyasa flow;  gentle seated, yet intense, Yin;and relaxing Yoga Nidra with a light-hearted, responsive and caring manner. I provide high quality, research-informed practices on yoga and mindfulness. My aim is for participants to be comfortable and confident in their own skin; to use the time and space provided to calm their mind; and to find ease from the demands and pressures upon them.
